The women who come to Rose Haven often have a myriad of needs. They can choose to work individually with an advocate. The advocates and women build trusting and
supportive relationships. Together they focus on the issues that the women want to work on while attending to other influencing problems and barriers. The advocates and the guests work on the women’s immediate and long-term goals. The guests at Rose Haven are the ones who determine the direction that each advocate will take.
The advocates assist women with a large variety of issues such as, housing, domestic violence, financial assistance, drug and alcohol dependence, securing identification papers, legal referrals, education as well as medical and mental health referrals. Rose Haven also has a focus on assisting families who are struggling. Our advocates work with other agencies to provide our guests and their children with items that they need, such as school supplies, diapers, clothing, strollers, etc. Although Rose Haven’s mission is focused on women and children, we do assist single fathers in providing for their children outside of hospitality hours.
The advocates support and work with each woman as long as she desires this. The advocates not only help the women on a day-to-day basis, but also guide the women towards realizing they can build a new and fulfilling life for themselves.
