The Resource Access Center (RAC) is a joint program through the Portland Housing Bureau and Transition Projects. This project is the focal point of the City’s 10 Year Plan to End Homelessness and will provide vital resources, shelter, and housing placement services to individuals and couples experiencing homelessness in Portland.
This building will contain 130 studio units to house vulnerable homeless or medically /mentally fragile homeless, 7 of which have been reserved for Rose Haven’s qualifying women. Rose Haven will recommend guests who have qualifying mental health conditions or are medically fragile. Guests will then participate in an interview process. After acceptance into the RAC, Rose Haven will serve as case managers our guests. The project is located at the corner of NW Broadway and NW Hoyt Street, next to Union Station and the Greyhound Bus Depot. The building is expected to open in June 2011.
Rose Apartments Agreement
Rose Haven has signed an agreement with the Rose Apartments which are operated through REACH housing development. This is a building made up of SRO's (Single Room Occupancy) that women can live in for a year while they gain income. Women referred from Rose Haven will be case managed by Rose Haven for the duration of their stay. Placements will be made for those women who currently have an income and are likely to be self-supporting after a year.
Rose Haven Opens as a Winter Warming Center
When severe winter conditions hit Portland, Rose Haven is now serving as a day shelter for women & children from 9am-4pm Monday through Friday. The shelter provides food, warmth and activities for up 35 women and children. Rose Haven uses Multnomah County’s definition of severe weather: 22 degrees and dry, 32 degrees and wet. Please call 503 248-6364 for additional information.
“Words alone cannot express the deepness of my thanks and gratitude for your loving compassion and constant faith and support.”
Julie, Rose Haven Guest
