Other Groups

Support Group: Thursdays 10-11:00am
This support group offers a time for the women from our community to come together and share their experiences, strengths and hopes. The topic changes dependent on what the members are experiencing in their lives that week. Each member begins with a check-in and then the topic is decided on by the group as a whole. The group is facilitated by our two advocates. However, the group is designed so the women can learn from each other. Some of the topics that we have covered are domestic violence, how to take control of life’s problems, finding housing, dealing with stress, and staying healthy physically and emotional through hard times.

Mixed Media Art Therapy: Thursdays 9:30-11:30am
The use of creative activities related to the arts to improve physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual well-being. A different project each week is facilitated by volunteers who participate in this creative process.

Spirituality: Tuesdays 10-11:15am
A spiritual circle offers a place to share ideas and experiences with others on a similar journey. This respectful and creative environment provides a springboard for discussion on current spiritual topics of interest to our guests. Prayer and reflection are integrated into these circles. Proselytizing or any form of religious pressure is not allowed at Rose Haven.

Book Club: Thursdays 10-11:30am
This group encourages reading, discussions and does wonders for developing communication skills, listening, and learning to "discuss and disagree" without resorting to emotional arguments. Books are provided by Rose Haven. For those shy of public speaking, book clubs are a great way to start expressing opinions to an audience or summarizing information and presenting it in a coherent and engaging way.
